Keywords
"Keywords" and Keyword phrases" are what you use to advertise your product or service on the Internet.
You choose the 30 best words you can use to describe your website.
It takes time and many trials and errors to get the right combination of words -
Once you choose these words , the description you write to descrfbe what your site offers or sells, should use as many keywords as possible to attract the search engines.
The search engines read ,then index, based to a large part on these keywords, so be sure to make your keywords and key phrases the best you can for your website.
The search engines like and use "Mega Tags" to index also.
"Title" "description" and "Keywords" and will also read the first 150-300 words in your text of each page.
Try to place keywords, or keyword phrases in all these places to get good rankings in search engines.
The best way to understand this is go look through Google.com at other websites and when you have found websites which impress you, see how they used their keywords and keyword phrases to advertise their site.
Once you have looked, then "Brain Storm" all the words and phrases you can think off and pick the best 60 - now you are ready go to next STEP:

"So What" Method:
The "So What" Method is a very useful form of analysis
Not only for website development but for many other areas or decisions in life.
It helps you zero in on what is really important and why it is so.
It is a type of game, where each statement or answer is followed up by "SO WHAT" until you pin down the basic reason.
As an example, supposing you are considering whether or not to open a Merchant Account.
I.E.:
"I think you should have a Merchant Account" ! - so what ?
"So that you can accept credit cards on-line!" - so what? -
"80% of buyers on the web prefer to use credit cards!" - so what?
"Why limit yourself to only 20% of possible sales?" - so what? -
"So you can make more money! - so what? -
"Help you can retire early and have fun with your life!" and so on.
This may seem like a game and at times it can be frustrating because it questions the easy answers.
Try it a number of times for different questions and situations, I believe you will find it very useful as you build your website and decide what keywords to end up with.
